One of the many things that we pride ourselves on is the excellent working environment and close relationships formed among our team. We have had many members of the team celebrate significant work anniversaries this year, and this month it’s the turn of Account Director Clive Burnham who has been with Ant Marketing for 11 years!
We sat down with Clive to speak to him about his time with the company…
Hi Clive, can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Of course! My name is Clive, I’m 45 and originally from Stoke-On-Trent. I’m a lifelong Stoke City fan, a keen runner (to work off the Toblerone and beer) and I have two children, William (8) and Grace (6). I love travelling, especially caravaning!
Tell us something you love and something you dislike.
I love my wife and kids of course, and chocolate, especially Toblerone (oh and real ale)! I hate lateness and poor punctuality.
What phrase do you use more than any other?
“Mucka” and “NO!!” or “WHY?” (with the kids that is)!
Do you remember your first day at Ant? How is it different to now?
My first day at ANT was very interesting as I am still the only sales person to arrive in sales without progressing through ops and survive! I remember thinking that it was chaotic but full of great people, all full of personality and a place I felt I would love – and I was right. Things are very organised now but there is still the feeling of what you contribute to the company really matters. I love it.
What does your job entail?
Bringing on new clients and developing them into long term partners, and working closely with the ops team to optimise the return for our clients.
What has been your greatest accomplishment at Ant and do you have any favourite memories?
Winning the WeBuyAnyCar/carwow accounts are particular favourite accomplishments of mine as they were completely organic. In terms of fond memories, I have built some great relationships with clients leading to some excellent nights out with them and the ANT team (although the memory of these is a little hazy)…
What do you like best about your job? Are there any aspects you aren’t so fond of?
I love winning new business and meeting new businesses/people. We have a great proposition and story to tell which is a joy to share. It can be a difficult job, although I am not sure that it is fully appreciated or understood sometimes. Losing is hard to take, as is not managing to keep a great opportunity in the business. all of the people here at Ant are fab and you really feel like you are part of something.
What are you hoping to achieve in your coming years at Ant?
Growth and success with some more great brands, and seeing Ant become a go-to solution for any business looking to procure the services we offer.
Thanks for talking to us Clive, and congratulations on your workiversary!
We’re always on the lookout for enthusiastic and driven people to join our team. If you’d like to join the colony, head over to our vacancies page to take a look at the positions we currently have available.
