Ant Kids – Donations to Chancet Wood & Rushey Meadows
In 2004 our Founder and CEO, Anthony Hinchcliffe, was appointed to the board of trustees for Hallam FM’s charity, Help a Hallam Child.
Seeing the difference local charities can bring to underprivileged children within the community, Anthony decided to set up the charity Ant Kids to continue and extend this support.
Friends of Chancet Wood Children’s Home
One of Ant Kids more recent donations was to Friends of Chancet Wood Children’s Home who have been involved with Ant Kids since 2015. Back then we initially provided a financial donation that helped provide a soft play area, this allowed the young people with severe physical disabilities to relax and play alongside their peers.
Chancet Wood was in need of a new touchscreen computer to replace the old and tired PC used by the children. Due to its ease of use, this touchscreen would allow children who previously couldn’t use the PC to get involved.
Lisa at Chancet Wood recently sent over a lovely letter to thank us for the donations.
“Ant Kids have also donated beautifully wrapped gifts at Christmas and Easter with exciting, generous and thoughtful contents, which are very much appreciated by the children and young people.
We have just been fortunate enough to be given a new PC for our young people which will be extremely useful as their current PC is very out of date.
Funds are very limited at Chancet Wood and Ant Kids’ support to us over the last few years has been invaluable and very much appreciated by all the staff, young people and parents.”
Rushey Meadows
Another children’s charity Ant Kids have recently donated to is Rushey Meadows, a children’s home local to us in Sheffield.
Rushey Meadows were in search of not one but three new smart TVs. As the children enjoy watching Netflix and Youtube, it was wiser to purchase Smart TVs, replacing the previously outdated TVs they already had.
It was lovely to hear back from the team at Rushey Meadows too as we also received a thank you card from the children, hand-delivered to us to thank Ant Kids for the donation.
It’s always rewarding hearing back from the charities we’ve been able to help, and knowing that children are benefiting from their new toys and technology.
