A Fresh Chapter: Chris Forrest Reflects on His First Month at Ant
After an incredible career in financial services, Chris Forrest has joined Ant as Strategy Director, bringing with him not only a wealth of experience but a genuine passion for people, growth and purpose. A month into his new role, we caught up with Chris to reflect on his journey so far, what’s stood out most, and what excites him about the road ahead.
You’ve had a long career in financial services – what’s motivated you throughout that journey?
People. Full stop. The relationships.
From early in my career, I realised that what truly motivates me is helping people grow. It’s never just been about numbers or KPIs – it’s about seeing someone realise their potential, take on new challenges, and thrive. That’s what gets me out of bed in the morning.
What attracted you to Ant at this point in your career?
There’s a phenomenal culture here at Ant that’s allowed the business to adapt, develop and evolve. That kind of agility only comes from strong values and the right leadership.
More than that, Ant is a real success story for Yorkshire – a UK-based, cost-effective voice model that’s built a reputation for quality and consistency. We don’t shout about it enough, and I’m excited to change that. The next chapter is going to be one to watch.
What’s one conversation or moment from your first week that’s stuck with you?
Listening to some of the front-line calls really struck me. The tone, the ease, the way our team engaged with customers – it was all so authentic. These weren’t pushy sales scripts. They were human, thoughtful, and relationship-driven. That kind of maturity in customer interaction is rare. It left me feeling proud and optimistic about the level of service we provide – and confident that our clients would feel the same.
What advice would you give to businesses looking to scale, sell, or change direction?
Don’t try and do everything. Just do a few things really well.
In moments of change, simplicity and clarity are your best friends. Make sure your team knows what the priorities are, and trust them to deliver. Surround yourself with good people, stay focused, and be honest about what success looks like.
Outside of work, what matters most to you?
My family means everything to me. Supporting them in their world is one of the most fulfilling parts of my life.
I’m also the chair of a mental health charity and I’ve been involved in developing young athletes, particularly in the athletics sector – something close to my heart through family ties. Post-COVID, I feel strongly that young adults need more support than ever. Society has let them down in many ways, and I want to help however I can.

Looking Ahead
Chris’ first month at Ant has already left a mark – on the people he’s met, the conversations he’s sparked, and the ideas beginning to take shape. As Strategy Director, his influence will no doubt help shape Ant’s direction, elevate our profile, and reinforce the values that make us who we are.
