Ant Kids’ Christmas Campaign
Ensuring every child has a wonderful Christmas time has always been a goal of ours and we’re pleased to continue this year with our in-house charity Ant Kids!
This Christmas Ant Kids will be inviting disadvantaged children from all over Sheffield to a magical Christmas Grotto! The children will get to explore the grotto, have a cup of cocoa with the elves in Santa’s Sleigh, and meet Father Christmas himself! Each child who attends will receive a special Christmas gift and a framed photograph with Santa – all paid for by Ant Kids.
Funding and Costs
We are aiming to raise £6,000 to help pay for the project. Aside from the childrens’ gifts, we need to pay for decorations to make Santa’s grotto as magical as possible, equipment for printing out photographs to give to children on the day, as well as costumes for Santa and his elves! We are anticipating other smaller costs too, which we need to be able to fund comfortably to ensure everything is as smooth and successful as possible.
How This Will Benefit The Community
Children living in poverty, suffering from illness or generally having a difficult time may find it hard to have a happy Christmas time, along with their friends. Often the Christmas period is the hardest for their parents or carers; with a visit to our grotto, we want children to be able to spend time doing what children should be doing at Christmas, without feeling different or left out. We also want to remove financial barriers from their parents, and ensure our teams are on site to provide care for the children during their visit.
Any Kids Trustee Holly Fordham said:
“For as long as I can remember, Christmas has been my favourite time of year – I still put a stocking up now!
A big part of the Christmas experience for me was visiting Father Christmas and the thought of children missing out on this for any reason really breaks my heart. If we can find a way to overcome any of the obstacles in the way for these children, I would love to do so”.
The Ant Kids Grotto will be open on the 12th and 13th of December, and we are now accepting donations to be able to fund this truly special project. If you are able give to the cause, any donation we receive is enormously appreciated.
