Can you tell us about your journey at Ant? How did it all start?
I was in my final year at The University of Sheffield, studying Business, when a friend introduced me to Ant Marketing. At the time, Ant was looking for multilingual customer service advisors to make outbound calls to Central and Eastern Europe, renewing existing subscriptions and acquiring new subscribers for publications like Flight International and Airline Business. The flexible hours made it an ideal way to earn extra money alongside my studies, and I suppose I was a great fit for Ant too, as I speak Ukrainian, Czech, and English.
Back then, the setup was very basic – no computers, diallers, or CRM systems. Just a desk phone, a stack of printed data sheets, subscription registration forms, and a pen or a pencil! I still remember my first call to the Czech Republic. I spoke to a pilot from an international airline, and after confirming all the necessary contact details and business demographics, I had to ask what car he drove – this was part of the telephone signature validation process at the time. His answer? “Boeing 737”!
After graduating, I decided to stay at Ant, as I saw great potential for professional growth. My career progressed rapidly – I soon moved into QA Analyst and Team Manager roles. Later, I had the opportunity to join the payroll team as a Payroll Assistant and quickly advanced to Payroll Officer, then Payroll Manager, and eventually Payroll & HR Manager. I discovered a real passion for Human Resources, so I completed my CIPD qualification and was subsequently promoted to Human Resources Director.

What are some of your favourite memories from your time here?
There are so many wonderful memories, it’s difficult to choose just one. One of the most rewarding aspects of my time at Ant has been meeting incredible people – not just from the UK, but from all over the world. Seeing them grow, both personally and professionally, has been truly inspiring.
One of the things I value most about Ant is its commitment to investing in its people, providing opportunities for development, and enabling career progression within the organisation. It’s been amazing to witness so many colleagues flourish in their roles and advance their careers. Being part of that journey and seeing the impact of Ant’s supportive culture is something I’ll always cherish.
How has Ant changed over the years, and what has remained the same?
The outsourcing industry has evolved significantly over the years, driven by technological advancements, regulatory changes, and shifting customer and employee expectations – and Ant has adapted alongside it. The way we operate today is vastly different from when I first started, with cutting-edge technology, enhanced compliance measures, and a greater emphasis on data-driven decision-making.
However, despite all these changes, some core values have remained the same. Ant has always placed a strong emphasis on investing in its people, fostering a culture of growth, and supporting self-development. The organisation continues to provide opportunities for career progression, helping individuals to thrive and advance within the company. This commitment to people has been, and remains, one of the defining strengths of Ant.
What do you love most about your role in HR?
What I enjoy most about my role in HR is the ability to positively impact people’s work, careers and overall experience within the company. It’s incredibly fulfilling to support individuals in their professional growth, help them realise their potential, and witness their progression.
I also appreciate the diversity of the role – each day brings new challenges and opportunities. Whether it’s recruitment, training, employee wellbeing, or strategic planning, every aspect contributes to building a positive and supportive workplace.
Above all, I love being part of a team that prioritises people, creating an environment where employees feel valued, engaged, and motivated to succeed.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone starting their career at Ant?
If you’re starting your career at Ant, my advice would be to fully embrace the opportunities for growth and development. The company offers a great environment for those who are keen to learn and improve. Don’t hesitate to take the initiative, ask questions, and push yourself to take on new challenges – you’ll gain invaluable experience.
It’s also important to build strong relationships with your colleagues. Ant is filled with talented individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, so take time to learn from them and collaborate.
Above all, stay flexible and open to change. The industry is always evolving, and those who are proactive and willing to acquire new skills will find plenty of chances to advance within the company.
