International Women’s Day 2020
International Women’s Day 2020
Diversity and equality in the work are crucial for a well-balanced workplace. Ant Marketing acknowledge the contribution of each member of the team, regardless of gender or any other factors.
Around the world, groups are striving to address a lack of equality for women in the workplace. A significant element of women’s equality overall, gender equality plays a big part in whether or not our economies thrive. We are proud to say our team is predominantly female, with over 58% of women making up the workforce, in a range of both senior and supporting roles, and the roles of our management team are also 49% female.
Looking further into women in business, it has been said that employing more women and tackling sexism in the workplace is the key to making the world economy richer, according to the head of the International Monetary Fund. In an interview, Christine Lagarde said “some countries could boost the size of their economies by 35% if they abandoned discriminatory laws and took advantage of the skills women had to offer.”
Following the trend of #EachForEqual, the gender pay gap has always played an important role for International Women’s Day as we try to close the divide between men and women to work for equal pay. The World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2020 indicates that it will still take more than a lifetime to make equality a reality. The report reveals that the greatest challenge preventing the economic gender gap from closing is women’s under-representation in certain fields of work, for example, in cloud computing just 12% of professionals are women. For the first time ever, Sales Confidence’s Top 50 UK SaaS sales leaders list was gender-equal, with twenty-five men and women named. In 2017, only one woman reached the Top 10, whereas in 2019, 5 women ranked, with two in the Top 3.
